The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Part Time School Maintenance Technician to ensure the school premises are safe, functional, and welcoming for students, staff, and visitors. This role is essential in maintaining the high standards of the school environment and supporting the day-to-day operations of the site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out proactive and reactive maintenance and repairs to a high standard.
- Conduct regular inspections across the school and associated buildings.
- Maintain service records for plant and equipment.
- Ensure safe storage and management of tools and equipment.
- Operate and maintain heating and hot water systems.
- Perform Health & Safety checks (e.g. water, fire alarms, emergency lighting, asbestos).
- Manage contractors on site and monitor work carried out.
- Support emergency call-outs and be a key holder for the site.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Previous experience in a maintenance role.
- Strong knowledge of general maintenance, including basic plumbing and joinery.
- Understanding of Health & Safety regulations and compliance.
- Full UK driving licence required.
Preferred
- Experience in an educational setting.
- Familiarity with hot and cold water systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage lone working situations.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive hourly rate of £12.82 to £13.87.
- 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday 1pm – 6pm.
