The Opportunity:
A Part-Time School Nurse is required to support the health and wellbeing of students within a dynamic and supportive school community. This role involves providing nurse-led care, first aid, health advice, and safeguarding support to ensure the physical and emotional wellbeing of students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide nurse-led care and first aid to students across all year groups.
- Deliver health advice and support to students, staff, and parents.
- Ensure the implementation of safeguarding procedures in line with school policies.
- Collaborate with the Medical Centre team to maintain a safe and healthy school environment.
- Monitor and manage student health records and medication administration.
- Support the school in promoting health and wellbeing through educational initiatives.
- Attend staff meetings and contribute to the development of health and safety policies.
- Respond to emergencies and provide immediate medical assistance when required.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Valid nursing qualification and current registration with the appropriate regulatory body.
- Experience in providing healthcare support in an educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of child and adolescent health issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexibly within a school environment, including during school hours and term-time.
Preferred
- Experience in safeguarding and child protection.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations in schools.
- Previous experience in administering medication to students.
- Confidence in delivering health education to students and staff.
