The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and compassionate Part-Time SEN Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students with autism and special educational needs. You will play a key role in supporting their learning, development, and overall wellbeing in a nurturing and structured environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with autism and special educational needs in their learning and general wellbeing.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with students to help them feel safe, valued, and motivated to learn.
  • Encourage independence, personal growth, and positive behaviour in all students.
  • Collaborate with teachers to deliver engaging, differentiated, and inclusive learning experiences.
  • Adapt to the dynamic and varied nature of SEN environments, offering flexible and responsive support.
  • Assist with the implementation of individual education plans and behaviour support strategies.
  • Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment for all students.
  • Support students in developing social, emotional, and life skills.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with SEN students in an employed or voluntary setting.
  • GCSE Maths and English Level 3 or above.
  • Understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures.
  • Commitment to putting the child first and treating them as an individual.
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible in a fast-paced and varied work environment.

Preferred

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car.
  • A recognised qualification at Level 2 or above in Support work for Teaching and Learning in Schools or an equivalent.
  • Knowledge or experience of working with students with SEN, SEMH, or ASD.
  • Experience in delivering learning support in a school or educational setting.
