The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Part Time Teacher to join our dedicated team. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people with special educational needs, delivering high-quality education that supports both academic and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching that supports pupils in making progress academically, socially and emotionally.
  • Adapt the Primary National Curriculum to meet the needs of students with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Supervise and support Teaching Assistants and Higher Level Teaching Assistants in their professional development.
  • Implement school policies and practices, including safeguarding and equality of opportunity.
  • Monitor the health, well-being and personal care of pupils, reporting concerns to relevant professionals.
  • Create and maintain strong nurturing relationships with young people.
  • Manage a range of learning approaches, including strategies for students with anxiety.
  • Use visual teaching methods to engage reluctant learners.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status with experience of delivering the Primary National Curriculum.
  • Experience in achieving outstanding outcomes for students with special educational needs.
  • Thorough knowledge of the curriculum and how to adapt it for pupils with SEN.
  • Experience of working with young people with ASD.
  • Understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures.

Preferred

  • Experience of managing a range of approaches to learning, including students with anxiety.
  • Knowledge of strategies and visual teaching methods to engage reluctant learners.
  • A flexible approach, high level of creativity and the ability to adapt teaching to meet individual needs.
