The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Part Time Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 SEND Support to a named student. This role is essential in supporting the student’s academic, personal, and social development. The successful candidate will work closely with the student, parents, and staff to ensure the student’s progress and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the educational, personal, and social development of a student with special educational needs and disabilities.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with the student, parents, and staff.
- Assist in the planning and delivery of individualized learning activities.
- Monitor and report on the student’s progress and development regularly.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff to support the student’s learning goals.
- Ensure the student’s environment is safe, inclusive, and encouraging.
- Promote the student’s independence and self-confidence.
- Comply with all safeguarding and child protection policies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with students with special educational needs and disabilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and parents.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
- Flexibility and willingness to work a minimum of 23 hours per week.
Preferred
- Previous experience in a teaching or support role within an educational setting.
- Knowledge of inclusive education practices.
- Experience with individualized learning plans.
- Familiarity with SEND support frameworks.
