Pastoral Lead Teacher - Fixed-Term position available at a top-ranking Sixth Form College.

The Opportunity:
As a Pastoral Lead Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping the tutorial programme and supporting students’ academic, personal, and career development. This is an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students through effective pastoral leadership and engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the development of a highly effective and well-attended tutorial programme.
- Deliver engaging and informative tutorial lesson plans on student well-being, mental health, and career progression.
- Support the Head of Pastoral in the continuous improvement of overall pastoral services.
- Address student concerns, manage behavioural and attendance issues, and provide guidance to students and parents.
- Ensure the implementation of safeguarding and mental health first aid practices within the team.
- Work closely with the pastoral team to create a supportive and inclusive environment for all students.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the tutorial programme and make recommendations for improvement.
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership on pastoral service performance.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in pastoral care or student support within an educational setting.
- Advanced Safeguarding training or willingness to complete it.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage and lead a team effectively.
- Commitment to student well-being and personal development.
- Experience in developing and delivering tutorial programmes or similar initiatives.
Preferred
- Mental Health First Aid training.
- Experience in a Sixth Form or further education setting.
- Background in curriculum development or academic support.
- Experience in managing student behaviour and attendance issues.
- Familiarity with digital learning platforms and online communication tools.
