The Opportunity:
As a Pastoral Manager, you will play a key role in improving student wellbeing, attendance, and academic engagement. You will support students by addressing barriers to learning and strengthening school-home relationships. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to improve student wellbeing and attendance.
- Work closely with students, parents, and teachers to address barriers to learning and support academic engagement.
- Strengthen relationships between the school and families to enhance student outcomes.
- Collaborate with statutory services to reduce pressure and provide targeted support.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of pastoral initiatives and make recommendations for improvement.
- Provide guidance and support to students in personal, social, and emotional development.
- Contribute to the development of a positive school culture and community ethos.
- Support the implementation of the school’s vision and values through pastoral leadership.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a pastoral or student support role within an educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Experience in improving student wellbeing and attendance.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to the school’s values and vision, including a focus on inclusivity and personal development.
Preferred
- Experience in managing a pastoral team or leading pastoral initiatives.
- Knowledge of educational psychology or student support frameworks.
- Experience with statutory services and multi-agency working.
- Experience in a school setting with a diverse student population.
- Familiarity with curriculum development and academic engagement strategies.
