The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality pastoral care and support to students, ensuring their well-being is prioritised.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other support staff to create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Deliver counselling and guidance services to students and families, addressing emotional, social, and academic needs.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and student engagement.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on student welfare and support interventions.
  • Support the school’s leadership programme by encouraging students to take on leadership roles and responsibilities.
  • Work closely with external agencies and professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
  • Participate in staff training and development to enhance pastoral care practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Degree or Diploma in Counselling, Social Care, or Careers.
  • Experience working with young people and families in a secondary school setting.
  • Experience providing pastoral support or careers guidance within a secondary school.
  • Strong ability to build positive relationships with students and adults.
  • Sensitivity and effectiveness in working with diverse groups and individuals.

Preferred

  • Experience in a faith-based or multi-faith educational setting.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
  • Experience in leadership development or character education programmes.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
