The Opportunity:

As a Pastoral Support Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting students across a range of areas, including safeguarding, mental health, and behaviour management. This role is essential in ensuring students receive the support they need to thrive academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with safeguarding, mental health, and wellbeing needs
  • Monitor and manage student behaviour across the school
  • Collaborate with teaching and support staff to address learning and behavioural challenges
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve student engagement and attendance
  • Provide guidance and support to students and their families when needed
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on student progress and interventions
  • Work closely with external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for students
  • Attend meetings and training sessions to enhance pastoral support practices

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in a pastoral or support role within an educational setting
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure
  • Commitment to promoting student wellbeing and academic success
  • Relevant qualifications in education or a related field

Preferred

  • Experience with mental health support or counselling
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies
  • Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar organisation
  • Experience with curriculum development or student support programmes
  • Familiarity with the Rosenshine Principles or TLAC 3.0 techniques
