The Opportunity:
As a Pastoral Support Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting students across a range of areas, including safeguarding, mental health, and behaviour management. This role is essential in ensuring students receive the support they need to thrive academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with safeguarding, mental health, and wellbeing needs
- Monitor and manage student behaviour across the school
- Collaborate with teaching and support staff to address learning and behavioural challenges
- Develop and implement strategies to improve student engagement and attendance
- Provide guidance and support to students and their families when needed
- Maintain accurate records and reports on student progress and interventions
- Work closely with external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for students
- Attend meetings and training sessions to enhance pastoral support practices
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in a pastoral or support role within an educational setting
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure
- Commitment to promoting student wellbeing and academic success
- Relevant qualifications in education or a related field
Preferred
- Experience with mental health support or counselling
- Knowledge of behaviour management strategies
- Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar organisation
- Experience with curriculum development or student support programmes
- Familiarity with the Rosenshine Principles or TLAC 3.0 techniques
