The Opportunity:

As a Pastoral Support Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting students’ emotional well-being and behavior management. This position is essential in ensuring students thrive in a nurturing and structured environment, with a strong focus on safeguarding and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in managing their emotional and behavioral needs.
  • Work closely with teaching and therapy teams to provide holistic support.
  • Monitor and report on student progress and well-being.
  • Deliver one-to-one and group support sessions as needed.
  • Assist in implementing behavior management strategies and interventions.
  • Collaborate with parents and external agencies to support student outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student care.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training to enhance pastoral care practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with neurodiverse students or in a pastoral support role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Ability to work flexibly and manage multiple priorities.
  • Commitment to promoting positive behavior and emotional well-being.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of autism, dyslexia, or related conditions.
  • Experience with behavior management strategies.
  • Background in therapeutic or support roles.
