The Opportunity:
A PDA Tutor is needed in the London area to support students with special educational needs. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students while working with a respected and award-winning tutoring agency. Tutors receive training and guidance to deliver tailored support that meets individual learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver one-to-one tuition to students with special educational needs (SEN) in the London area
- Apply the Bright Heart Approach to build trust, self-esteem, and academic progress
- Prepare and follow individual learning plans (ILPs) tailored to each student’s needs
- Communicate regularly with parents and education consultants to ensure consistent support
- Attend training sessions and safeguarding workshops to maintain high standards of care
- Maintain accurate records and report on student progress
- Work flexibly with a variety of clients including schools, local authorities, and private families
- Provide support that addresses both academic and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- At least 12 months of relevant tutoring and/or teaching experience in the UK
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Strong subject knowledge in the subject(s) you are tutoring
- University qualification or currently studying towards one, and A-levels
- Passion for teaching and the subject(s) you are tutoring
- Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN)
Preferred
- Experience with PDA (Pervasive Developmental Disorder)
- Previous experience with students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs
- Experience working with students who have fallen behind at school or require interim education
- Experience with online and in-person tutoring
- Familiarity with the Bright Heart Approach
