The Opportunity:
We are seeking experienced PDA tutors with excellent communication skills to work in the London area. This is a great opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students with special educational needs (SEN) while enjoying the flexibility of self-employment and competitive tutoring rates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality one-to-one tutoring to students with PDA and other SEN needs
- Apply the Bright Heart Approach, focusing on building trust, self-esteem, and academic progress
- Work closely with students, parents, and education consultants to create and follow individual learning plans
- Maintain detailed records and report progress regularly
- Attend training sessions and safeguarding workshops to ensure the highest standards of care and support
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- At least 12 months of relevant tutoring or teaching experience in the UK
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Strong subject knowledge in the subject(s) you are tutoring
- University qualification or currently studying towards one
- Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN)
- Current Enhanced DBS certificate with a check of the children’s barred list
Preferred
- Experience with PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance)
- Previous experience with the Bright Heart Approach or similar student-centred methods
- Experience with online and in-person tutoring
- Familiarity with study techniques and life skills support
