Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement high-quality teaching and learning strategies across PE and Health and Social Care.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure alignment with the school’s curriculum and improvement goals.
  • Lead professional development for staff within the subject area.
  • Work closely with senior leaders to contribute to the overall academic success of the school.
  • Promote student engagement and achievement through innovative and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Support the school’s mission to provide a broad and balanced education that prepares students for the future.
  • Ensure the subject area meets all statutory and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in PE and Health and Social Care.
  • Proven leadership experience in a similar subject leadership role.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a commitment to raising student attainment.
  • Experience in developing and delivering effective professional development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and senior leaders.

Preferred

  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
  • Experience in leading a department or team within a school setting.
  • Knowledge of current educational trends and best practices in PE and Health and Social Care.
  • Experience in driving improvement in student outcomes and attainment.
