Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement high-quality teaching and learning strategies across PE and Health and Social Care.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure alignment with the school’s curriculum and improvement goals.
- Lead professional development for staff within the subject area.
- Work closely with senior leaders to contribute to the overall academic success of the school.
- Promote student engagement and achievement through innovative and inclusive teaching practices.
- Support the school’s mission to provide a broad and balanced education that prepares students for the future.
- Ensure the subject area meets all statutory and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in PE and Health and Social Care.
- Proven leadership experience in a similar subject leadership role.
- Strong subject knowledge and a commitment to raising student attainment.
- Experience in developing and delivering effective professional development.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and senior leaders.
Preferred
- Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
- Experience in leading a department or team within a school setting.
- Knowledge of current educational trends and best practices in PE and Health and Social Care.
- Experience in driving improvement in student outcomes and attainment.
