Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strong leadership to the PE department and support staff in delivering high-quality teaching and learning
- Develop and implement a robust, inclusive curriculum that meets the needs of all students
- Monitor and analyze student performance data to inform targeted interventions and improve outcomes
- Promote a culture of excellence through effective assessment and continuous professional development
- Oversee and expand extra-curricular activities and enrichment opportunities
- Collaborate with other subject leads to ensure a cohesive and ambitious approach to teaching and learning
- Support the development of student confidence, fitness, and health through engaging and challenging PE provision
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding and equality policies across all aspects of the role
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience teaching PE across KS3–KS5
- Proven ability to lead and inspire a team of educators
- Strong knowledge of curriculum design, assessment, and raising attainment
- Commitment to promoting student wellbeing and physical development
- Valid first aid qualification or willingness to complete training
Preferred
- Full, clean driving licence and ability to drive a school minibus
- Experience in leading departmental development and strategic planning
- Experience with extra-curricular programme management
