Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strong leadership to the PE department and support staff in delivering high-quality teaching and learning
  • Develop and implement a robust, inclusive curriculum that meets the needs of all students
  • Monitor and analyze student performance data to inform targeted interventions and improve outcomes
  • Promote a culture of excellence through effective assessment and continuous professional development
  • Oversee and expand extra-curricular activities and enrichment opportunities
  • Collaborate with other subject leads to ensure a cohesive and ambitious approach to teaching and learning
  • Support the development of student confidence, fitness, and health through engaging and challenging PE provision
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding and equality policies across all aspects of the role

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience teaching PE across KS3–KS5
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire a team of educators
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum design, assessment, and raising attainment
  • Commitment to promoting student wellbeing and physical development
  • Valid first aid qualification or willingness to complete training

Preferred

  • Full, clean driving licence and ability to drive a school minibus
  • Experience in leading departmental development and strategic planning
  • Experience with extra-curricular programme management
