The Opportunity:

As a PE Teacher, you will play a key role in promoting a healthy, active lifestyle and inspiring students to achieve excellence in sport and physical activity. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver high-quality PE lessons that promote physical fitness, teamwork, and lifelong participation in sport.
  • Support and lead a range of extra-curricular clubs, with a particular focus on Rugby and other successful sports programmes.
  • Work closely with students, parents, and colleagues to enhance the school’s sporting culture and achievements.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, ensuring that all learners are challenged and supported to reach their full potential.
  • Maintain and improve the use of state-of-the-art facilities, including multi-sports halls, all-weather pitches, and fitness studios.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate PE with broader school initiatives and curriculum goals.
  • Participate in staff development and training to continuously improve teaching practice and student outcomes.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive sporting environment that encourages participation and excellence at all levels.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and a valid teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience in teaching PE at a secondary level.
  • Passion for sport and a commitment to promoting an active lifestyle among students.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take on leadership roles within the PE department.

Preferred

  • Experience in coaching or leading extra-curricular sports clubs.
  • Knowledge of competitive sports and a track record of success in inter-school and regional competitions.
  • Experience in developing and delivering innovative PE programmes.
  • Familiarity with using technology to enhance teaching and learning in PE.
