Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver high-quality PE lessons that promote physical fitness, teamwork, and lifelong participation in sport.
- Support and lead a range of extra-curricular clubs, with a particular focus on Rugby and other successful sports programmes.
- Work closely with students, parents, and colleagues to enhance the school’s sporting culture and achievements.
- Monitor and assess student progress, ensuring that all learners are challenged and supported to reach their full potential.
- Maintain and improve the use of state-of-the-art facilities, including multi-sports halls, all-weather pitches, and fitness studios.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate PE with broader school initiatives and curriculum goals.
- Participate in staff development and training to continuously improve teaching practice and student outcomes.
- Promote a positive and inclusive sporting environment that encourages participation and excellence at all levels.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and a valid teaching qualification.
- Proven experience in teaching PE at a secondary level.
- Passion for sport and a commitment to promoting an active lifestyle among students.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take on leadership roles within the PE department.
Preferred
- Experience in coaching or leading extra-curricular sports clubs.
- Knowledge of competitive sports and a track record of success in inter-school and regional competitions.
- Experience in developing and delivering innovative PE programmes.
- Familiarity with using technology to enhance teaching and learning in PE.
