The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated PE Teacher to join our department on a fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave from April 2026. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on students’ physical and personal development through high-quality, engaging lessons and co-curricular activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach inclusive and engaging PE lessons across Key Stages 3–5, with some provision in the Junior School
  • Lead and coach netball teams and at least one other sport across multiple age groups
  • Use assessment data to track progress, provide feedback, and set individual targets
  • Contribute to departmental planning and the development of PE policy and practice
  • Act as a positive role model, upholding the highest standards of professionalism
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to enhance the pupil experience

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Physical Education
  • Experience teaching across Key Stages 3–5
  • Strong knowledge of sports coaching and leadership
  • Commitment to promoting wellbeing, inclusion, and safe practice
  • Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to departmental planning

Preferred

  • Experience with leading lunchtime and after-school clubs
  • Experience in officiating sports fixtures and events
  • Experience in inter-house competitions and sports days
  • Experience in safeguarding and health and safety procedures
  • Experience with assessment and tracking student progress
