The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a passionate and highly motivated PE Teacher with a specialism in Sports and Health & Social Care to join a dynamic and supportive team. The role involves delivering high-quality PE lessons and contributing to the wider academic curriculum, including teaching Child Development and Health & Social Care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Physical Education lessons to students aged 11–16
- Teach Child Development and Health & Social Care as part of the wider curriculum
- Support the delivery of the Duke of Edinburgh Award and extra-curricular sports activities
- Collaborate with colleagues to share resources and best practice
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the efficient running of the PE Department
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children
- Adhere to and promote all school policies and procedures
- Engage, motivate, and challenge students to excel academically
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Recognised teaching qualification, such as a PGCE, or equivalent experience
- Thorough knowledge of the (11-16) subject Curriculum up to GCSE
- Awareness of Safeguarding requirements and good practice
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to deliver inspirational and informative lessons to a wide range of pupils
Preferred
- Good degree in a directly related subject
- Experience with teaching Child Development and Health & Social Care
- Experience with the Duke of Edinburgh Award or similar programmes
- Experience working with students with hearing impairments
