The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and highly motivated PE Teacher with a specialism in Sports and Health & Social Care to join a dynamic and supportive team. The role involves delivering high-quality PE lessons and contributing to the wider academic curriculum, including teaching Child Development and Health & Social Care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Physical Education lessons to students aged 11–16
  • Teach Child Development and Health & Social Care as part of the wider curriculum
  • Support the delivery of the Duke of Edinburgh Award and extra-curricular sports activities
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share resources and best practice
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the efficient running of the PE Department
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of children
  • Adhere to and promote all school policies and procedures
  • Engage, motivate, and challenge students to excel academically

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Recognised teaching qualification, such as a PGCE, or equivalent experience
  • Thorough knowledge of the (11-16) subject Curriculum up to GCSE
  • Awareness of Safeguarding requirements and good practice
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to deliver inspirational and informative lessons to a wide range of pupils

Preferred

  • Good degree in a directly related subject
  • Experience with teaching Child Development and Health & Social Care
  • Experience with the Duke of Edinburgh Award or similar programmes
  • Experience working with students with hearing impairments
