Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach singing to students from as young as 5, with a growing demand for lessons
  • Provide piano instruction to students at beginner to Grade 5/6 level
  • Accompany choir rehearsals twice a week at specified times
  • Plan and deliver engaging and varied music lessons tailored to individual needs
  • Prepare and enter students for graded examinations where appropriate
  • Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and communicate effectively with parents
  • Support the school’s cultural life through participation in extra-curricular performances and rehearsals
  • Ensure all teaching materials are prepared and lessons are delivered in a timely and professional manner

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Appropriate music qualification
  • Experience teaching music in a school environment
  • Ability to work with children of all ages, including those with Special Educational Needs

Preferred

  • Teaching qualification
  • Experience working with younger children
  • Knowledge of the Kodaly method
  • Strong accompaniment and IT skills
