The Opportunity:
As a Physical Education and Swimming Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the physical, social, and emotional development of students from Nursery to Year 6. This position offers the chance to inspire lifelong engagement with sport and movement, while contributing to a dynamic and supportive teaching team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging, and inclusive PE and swimming lessons that promote fundamental movement skills and personal growth.
- Create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment that encourages risk-taking and celebrates student achievement.
- Assess and track student progress in physical, social, and cognitive domains to inform teaching and learning.
- Lead and support at least one school sports team per term, attending training and fixtures as required.
- Participate in and contribute to school events, sports days, and inter-school competitions.
- Collaborate with the PE and Swimming team to develop a consistent, values-based curriculum.
- Support transition and sporting events in coordination with the Riverside Campus.
- Engage in professional learning and reflection to enhance teaching practice and student outcomes.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in primary education.
- Strong understanding of physical education pedagogy and inclusive teaching practices.
- Experience in delivering PE and swimming lessons to students from Nursery to Year 6.
- Commitment to student well-being and pastoral care.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and across year groups.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Preferred
- Teaching experience in the UK or with the English National Curriculum.
- Experience with international curricula or bilingual education programs.
- Experience in coaching and leading sports teams.
- Background in child safeguarding and best practices in student welfare.
