Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging Physical Education lessons that align with the school’s curriculum and support student achievement.
  • Support and contribute to the extra-curricular sports programme, including after-school and weekend activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and high-quality Physical Education experience for all students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to help them reach their full potential.
  • Stay up to date with best practices in Physical Education and incorporate innovative teaching methods into lessons.
  • Participate in staff development and training opportunities to enhance professional growth.
  • Promote a culture of health, fitness, and teamwork among students.
  • Work closely with other departments to support the overall educational goals of the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A valid teaching qualification (e.g., B.Ed./M.Ed./Lehramt or PGCE).
  • Proven experience in teaching Physical Education at the primary and secondary levels.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student welfare and development.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and take initiative when needed.

Preferred

  • Experience with the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum.
  • Background in managing extra-curricular sports programmes.
  • Knowledge of inclusive teaching practices and support for students with diverse needs.
  • Fluency in German or willingness to learn.
