The Opportunity:
As a Physical Education Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality PE lessons and contributing to a vibrant extra-curricular sports programme. This role offers the opportunity to take on Head of Department responsibilities for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective PE lessons to Key Stages 3 and 4 students.
- Contribute to the planning and development of the PE curriculum.
- Support students in achieving their full potential in GCSE and BTEC courses.
- Manage and supervise students during extra-curricular sports activities.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with other teachers and departments to enhance student outcomes.
- Supervise students in single-sex changing facilities and showers where appropriate.
- Provide personal care and instruction to female students when required.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching PE to students of all abilities
- Strong subject knowledge in physical education and sport
- Commitment to high standards of achievement for all students
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred
- Experience in leading a department or taking on leadership roles
- Ability to teach a second subject
- Experience with extra-curricular sports programmes
