The Opportunity:

As a Physical Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the school’s PE curriculum and promoting a culture of physical activity and healthy lifestyles. You will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons and coaching a range of sports, with a focus on encouraging girls to excel in sport and understand the benefits of an active lifestyle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver the PE curriculum from EYFS through to KS5 with creativity and enthusiasm.
  • Coach multiple sports, including football, netball, hockey, badminton, tennis, and athletics, to a high standard.
  • Contribute to the school’s extensive extra-curricular programme, including competitive and development squads.
  • Work collaboratively with the Director of Sport and department colleagues to support the school’s sporting and academic goals.
  • Promote inclusivity and participation in sport, ensuring all students benefit from physical education.
  • Support the school’s mission by fostering a love of sport and encouraging lifelong healthy habits.
  • Assist in the organisation and management of fixtures, competitions, and Trust rallies.
  • Engage with students through coaching, mentoring, and leadership opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Physical Education.
  • Strong knowledge of sports and physical education curriculum from EYFS to KS5.
  • Ability to coach multiple sports to a high standard.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to promoting an active and healthy lifestyle among students.
  • Flexibility and willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school and department.

Preferred

  • Experience in coaching football, netball, hockey, badminton, tennis, or athletics.
  • Involvement in extra-curricular sports programmes or leadership roles.
  • Experience working in an independent or academically selective school setting.
  • Strong understanding of the importance of physical activity in personal development.
