The Opportunity:
As a Physical Education Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering a high-quality PE curriculum to students from EYFS through to KS5. You will inspire a passion for sport and physical activity, contributing to a vibrant extra-curricular programme and supporting the school's commitment to developing well-rounded, active young women.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging PE lessons across all key stages.
- Coach multiple sports to a high standard, with particular expertise in football, netball, hockey, badminton, tennis, or athletics being an advantage.
- Contribute to the management and development of the PE department and its extra-curricular programme.
- Support students in developing a lifelong appreciation for physical activity and healthy lifestyles.
- Collaborate with the Director of Sport and other departmental colleagues to enhance the school's sporting culture.
- Participate in the planning and delivery of competitive and development squads, fixtures, and events.
- Promote the values of teamwork, resilience, and leadership through sport.
- Ensure the safe and effective use of school facilities and equipment.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge and experience in Physical Education.
- Experience of teaching across a range of key stages.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to coach multiple sports to a high standard.
- Commitment to promoting physical activity and healthy lifestyles.
Preferred
- Experience in coaching football, netball, hockey, badminton, tennis, or athletics.
- Involvement in extra-curricular sports programmes and competitive fixtures.
- Experience working in an independent or selective school setting.
- Familiarity with the GDST and its ethos.
