The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a passionate and experienced Physical Education Teacher – Secondary School to join its growing Secondary phase. This role offers the opportunity to shape student learning and development in a dynamic and innovative educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Physical Education lessons in line with the English National Curriculum framework.
- Develop and implement engaging, student-centered teaching strategies that promote physical fitness and well-being.
- Support the school’s expansion by contributing to the development of new PE and sports facilities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance cross-curricular learning and student engagement.
- Provide individualized support to students, ensuring their academic and personal growth.
- Participate in the assessment and marking of (I)GCSE and A Level Physical Education or Sport.
- Engage with parents and the wider school community through regular communication and events.
- Contribute to the broader life of the school through extracurricular and leadership activities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A minimum of two years’ experience in a full-time class teaching role.
- A bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree in Physical Education/Sports or a closely related field.
- A relevant postgraduate teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, QTS).
- Experience teaching Physical Education to a high quality at Secondary School level within the English National Curriculum framework.
Preferred
- Experience teaching Key Stage 3, (I)GCSE and A Level Physical Education or Sport (applications from IB Sport, Exercise and Health teachers will also be accepted).
- A master’s or postgraduate qualification in a related subject.
- Experience working with EAL pupils (English as an Additional Language).
- Experience or interest in being an examiner for (I)GCSE and/or A Level.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Two-year renewable contracts with competitive compensation and gratuity of 18.75%.
