Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Physics and Computer Science to students across all key stages, with a focus on practical and investigative learning.
- Develop and deliver engaging lessons that inspire a love of the subject while ensuring academic success.
- Collaborate with colleagues on pedagogical development, including peer observations and research projects.
- Support students in preparing for university entrance interviews and exams, including Oxbridge.
- Participate in co-curricular activities and pastoral support, contributing to the overall student experience.
- Stay up to date with advancements in Physics and Computer Science, integrating modern teaching approaches and technology.
- Mentor trainee teachers and contribute to the professional development of the teaching staff.
- Engage with parents and the wider school community to support student learning and well-being.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A degree in Physics or Computer Science and Qualified Teacher Status (or equivalent).
- Experience teaching Physics up to Key Stage 5 (IB diploma or equivalent).
- Experience teaching Computer Science up to Key Stage 4.
- Ability to teach both theory and practical aspects of Computer Science, including Python, JavaScript, and/or Java.
- Significant UK-based or high-performing British international school experience.
Preferred
- Experience in offering subject-related co-curricular activities.
- Experience preparing students for university entrance interviews, including Oxbridge.
- Strong understanding of modern pedagogical approaches and a passion for teaching and learning development.
