The Opportunity:

As a Physics Teacher, you will play a key role in inspiring the next generation of scientists and engineers. You will be responsible for teaching Physics up to A Level and contributing to a department known for its excellence in Science education. Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Physics to students up to A Level, using a bespoke curriculum and sector-leading teaching practices.
  • Deliver engaging and challenging lessons that foster curiosity and a deep understanding of scientific concepts.
  • Support students in achieving their academic goals, with a focus on preparing them for university and future careers in STEM.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Science department to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies.
  • Provide individualized support to students, ensuring they are well-prepared for higher education and beyond.
  • Contribute to the school’s commitment to academic excellence and the "Win Your Own Race" culture of achievement.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and planning sessions to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Physics education and incorporate new ideas into lesson planning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching Physics up to A Level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to inspire and engage students.
  • Commitment to fostering a love of science and encouraging high achievement in students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take on additional responsibilities as required.

Preferred

  • Experience with the Edexcel IGCSE and A Level specifications.
  • Familiarity with the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) and independent research.
  • Experience in a school with a strong Science department and a focus on STEM.
  • Previous involvement in careers guidance or university preparation for students.
