The Opportunity:

As a Physics Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality education to students across all key stages. You will contribute to a department with a long tradition of academic excellence and support students in achieving their full potential in a stimulating and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach the full age and ability range from KS3 through to KS5, including A Level, IB, and GCSE courses.
  • Develop and implement innovative use of technology to enhance student learning.
  • Support gifted and talented students to reach their maximum potential.
  • Provide targeted support to students who find the subject challenging.
  • Enhance the extra-curricular provision within the Physics Department.
  • Contribute to the games and co-curricular programme.
  • Provide tutorial support to a group of pupils.
  • Participate in boarding pastoral care as part of a Playroom or House team.
  • Cover for absent staff as required.
  • Attend whole school events, assemblies, and school masses.
  • Attend parents’ events such as Parents’ Days and Great Academies.
  • Complete weekly study supervision and other staff duties.
  • Promote the school’s ethos and mission statement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge and experience.
  • Experience teaching Physics at KS3, GCSE, and A Level.
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to the Jesuit ethos and values.
  • Ability to work effectively in a boarding school environment.

Preferred

  • Experience with the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum.
  • Familiarity with the use of technology in education.
  • Experience in co-curricular or extra-curricular activities.
  • Background in pastoral care or boarding school experience.
  • Experience in academic competitions such as BPHO.
