The Opportunity:

We are seeking experienced PISA Coder (Marker) to support the PISA 2025 Main Study by coding student responses in Science, Mathematics, and Reading assessments. This remote role is ideal for candidates with a strong background in Science or Welsh, and offers a chance to contribute to a global educational initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend and participate in online coder training sessions
  • Code pupil responses in English and/or Welsh consistently and accurately
  • Demonstrate the ability to apply coding guides to internationally agreed standards
  • Complete daily coding tasks remotely and meet all deadlines
  • Adhere to key dates and instructions provided by Pearson
  • Complete administrative tasks and meet all required deadlines
  • Provide feedback on the coding process at the end of the coding window
  • Maintain strict confidentiality to ensure test security

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A level in a science subject and at least a 2:2 Degree in a Science subject, or related subject
  • Experience in teaching KS3 or GCSE Science (within the past 3 years)
  • Ability to code in English and/or Welsh

Preferred

  • Previous experience of marking external assessments online
  • Experience in teaching KS3 or GCSE English/Welsh (for Welsh roles)
