The Opportunity:

As a PLC Manager, you will coordinate and manage the Personal Learning Centre, ensuring that vulnerable students receive the support they need to thrive academically and personally. This is a key role in shaping student success and well-being within a school committed to excellence and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage the Personal Learning Centre to support vulnerable students.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve student learning and welfare outcomes.
  • Work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external partners to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of support programmes and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records and report on student progress and centre performance.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Provide guidance and training to support staff on best practices in student welfare and learning support.
  • Ensure compliance with school policies, safeguarding procedures, and legal requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in managing a Personal Learning Centre or similar support role.
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills with the ability to manage a team and coordinate multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with students, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.
  • Experience in working with vulnerable students and providing tailored learning support.
  • Commitment to promoting student well-being and academic success.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting, ideally within an academy trust.
  • Familiarity with the National Curriculum and best practices in student support.
  • Experience in developing and delivering training programmes for staff.
  • Understanding of the latest educational technologies and their application in learning support.
