Pool Assistant needed – ensure pool safety and maintenance at a school.

The Opportunity:
As a Pool Assistant, you will ensure the safety and well-being of pool users while maintaining a clean and functional environment. This role is essential to supporting hydrotherapy, swimming, and recreational activities for students. The position requires a strong commitment to safety and a willingness to learn and grow within a supportive team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and ensure the safety of pool users at all times
- Carry out emergency rescues as required
- Perform basic pool maintenance and cleaning tasks
- Follow and adhere to health and safety protocols
- Work closely with the Swimming Teacher to support students’ activities
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of pool equipment
- Maintain accurate records of pool usage and maintenance
- Attend training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Hold a National Rescue Award
- Ability to meet key accountabilities set out in the job description
- Experience or a keen interest in the subject matter
- Ability to use ICT effectively
- Strong organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Good levels of literacy and numeracy
Preferred
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Experience working with children or young people
- Knowledge of hydrotherapy or special needs education
