The Opportunity:

A Portuguese Teacher (Portuguese Ab Initio – Maternity Cover) is needed to join a dynamic and supportive team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement engaging Portuguese language lessons tailored to diverse learning styles and proficiency levels.
  • Deliver high-quality instruction aligned with curriculum standards and student needs.
  • Assess student progress using formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback.
  • Foster an interactive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes confidence and participation.
  • Encourage student engagement in extracurricular activities related to Portuguese and Lusophone culture.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and curriculum development.
  • Support student well-being and address challenges with empathy and professionalism.
  • Maintain accurate student records and provide detailed progress reports.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Portuguese Language and Literature or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching Portuguese at the Middle or High School level.
  • Strong understanding of modern language teaching methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to design effective assessments and use educational technology.
  • Fluency in Portuguese and proficiency in English (spoken and written).
