The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Prep School Teacher to join our dynamic team. This role is central to delivering a high-standard British education to students aged 8–12, with a focus on English and History. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping young minds and contributing to the school’s strong academic reputation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons in English and History to Year 5 students.
  • Plan and resource high-quality, curriculum-focused teaching materials.
  • Monitor and support student progress, adapting teaching methods to meet individual learning needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and well-rounded educational experience.
  • Promote a positive classroom environment that encourages high standards of behaviour and academic achievement.
  • Participate in co-curricular activities and contribute to the school’s vibrant community life.
  • Utilise ICT tools effectively to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A good honours degree from a British university (2:1 or better).
  • A PGCE or equivalent teacher qualification.
  • Recent teaching experience in a UK-based school.
  • Strong subject knowledge in English and History, with experience teaching Key Stage 2.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Native-level English proficiency.
  • Proven classroom management and behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to modify learning strategies to support diverse learners.

Preferred

  • Experience working in an independent or international school setting.
  • Familiarity with Spanish language and culture.
