The Opportunity:
A Primary Bilingual Maths Teacher is needed to deliver a world-class bilingual education in English and Chinese, supporting student wellbeing and academic success in a dynamic, international setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and teach Mathematics bilingually in Chinese and English, embedding inquiry-based and conceptual approaches.
- Collaborate with the English QTS teacher and Chinese language arts teacher to ensure mathematics is taught linguistically and conceptually through both languages.
- Integrate Science and Humanities (British National Curriculum) into Chinese-medium teaching.
- Serve as a hom, focusing on children’s wellbeing, daily routines, and proactive parent communication.
- Contribute to the delivery of the wider UK Key Stage 1 curriculum through bilingual immersion.
- Participate in the vibrant “You Time!” after-school programme, offering diverse enrichment opportunities.
- Build strong, positive relationships with students and parents, reflecting the school’s ethos of excellence, inclusion, and global citizenship.
- Serve as a continuity teacher, providing cover for either the English or Chinese teacher in HQP as required, ensuring uninterrupted high-quality bilingual provision.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A minimum of three years of full-time teaching experience and with homeroom experience.
- Native-level proficiency in both Chinese and English, with the ability to teach academic content confidently in both languages.
- Strong commitment to bilingual and immersive pedagogy, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-teaching model.
- Proven ability to support both student wellbeing and academic achievement through high-quality classroom practice and positive parent partnerships.
Preferred
- Experience teaching in an international school or bilingual school setting.
- Familiarity with the English National Curriculum (Key Stages 1 and 2), particularly in Mathematics, Science, and Humanities.
- Experience integrating language development with subject learning across multiple languages.
- A record of contributing to co-curricular programmes, enrichment, or after-school activities.
