The Opportunity:

As a Primary Class Teacher, you will play a vital role in creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment based on evidence-based best practice. You will be responsible for delivering a challenging and relevant curriculum that supports the holistic development of all students, while promoting the IB PYP learner profile attributes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a transdisciplinary and conceptual curriculum that is challenging, relevant, and significant.
  • Model and demonstrate the IB PYP learner profile attributes in daily teaching and interactions.
  • Build and maintain respectful, positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues, valuing diversity.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.
  • Collaborate with Inclusive Education, EAL teams, and the school counselor to support student success.
  • Contribute to meetings and collaborate with colleagues to create and review Individual Education Plans.
  • Maintain detailed planning documents with clear learning objectives, differentiated tasks, and assessments.
  • Monitor and document student progress regularly.
  • Utilise technology to enhance student learning outcomes where appropriate.
  • Maintain a tidy, well-organised classroom and encourage student responsibility and pride.
  • Manage classroom effectively, supporting academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Participate in professional learning and appraisal processes to support continuous growth.
  • Advocate for student wellbeing and safeguarding, following established protocols and procedures.
  • Reflect on professional practice to ensure alignment with contemporary research and best practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or equivalent, or a related degree with a PGCE from a recognised institution.
  • 2–5 years of relevant professional teaching experience.

Preferred

  • Experience with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP).
  • Familiarity with inclusive education practices and differentiated instruction.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with technology integration in the classroom.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
