The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Primary Deputy Principal: Teaching and Learning to lead curriculum development and teacher support. This role is pivotal in shaping a forward-thinking and innovative educational environment that aligns with global standards and the school’s mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Re-design and develop comprehensive, cohesive, and age-appropriate curricula for all primary school subjects.
- Ensure unit plans on Toddle are written and updated according to school policy.
- Align the curriculum with school standards, guidelines, and objectives across grade levels.
- Identify and select appropriate teaching resources and digital tools to support curriculum implementation.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to teachers for effective curriculum delivery and diverse learning needs.
- Develop assessment methods and tools to evaluate student progress and curriculum effectiveness.
- Regularly review and update the curriculum to reflect best practices and pedagogical advancements.
- Foster collaboration among teaching staff, subject planners, and school leadership.
- Communicate with parents and involve the community in curriculum goals and objectives.
- Analyze educational data to make data-driven curriculum decisions.
- Encourage the use of differentiated instruction and Universal Design for Learning principles.
- Promote inquiry-based learning and critical thinking across subjects.
- Advocate for the integration of technology into teaching practices.
- Facilitate experiential learning opportunities and interdisciplinary approaches in STEM/STEAM.
- Identify emerging educational trends and support innovation in teaching methodologies.
- Oversee curriculum documentation and external authorizations.
- Schedule and develop agendas for planning meetings with Primary teachers.
- Meet weekly with the Deputy Director for Curriculum and Instruction to discuss program development.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Appropriate educational degree from a recognized university.
- Teaching certification or relevant teaching experience.
- Recognized training in the curriculum programs offered by the school.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse cultures and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain detailed records.
- High level of proficiency with technology and digital tools.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and instructional leadership.
- Background in international education or cross-cultural environments.
- Familiarity with CIS, ECIS, ISS, or IBO standards.
- Experience with EdTech integration and digital learning platforms.
