The Opportunity:

As a Primary School Learning Support Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs. You will work closely with teachers, parents, and support staff to create individualized learning plans and provide targeted interventions that help students thrive. This is a dynamic and impactful role that requires a passion for education and a commitment to student success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans.
  • Provide targeted interventions and support for students with special learning needs in both general and special education settings.
  • Deliver small-group or one-on-one instruction tailored to student needs.
  • Participate in collaborative meetings, including PLT and SST, to ensure student needs are met through a structured support system.
  • Coordinate with external agencies and specialists when necessary to enhance student support.
  • Use data to assess student progress and adjust instructional approaches accordingly.
  • Integrate technology, such as Google Suite and assistive tools, to support diverse learners.
  • Modify assessments and grading practices to accommodate varied learning needs while maintaining academic rigor.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Special Needs/Education Teacher certification (current)
  • Two years of experience as a special education or learning support teacher
  • Experience with providing multi-sensory reading intervention (Orton–Gillingham, Lindamood-Bell, etc.)

Preferred

  • A master’s degree in special education or a related field
  • Experience in co-planning and co-teaching arrangements
  • Proficiency in IEP implementation and inclusive teaching practices
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in evidence-based teaching strategies
