The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a motivated Primary School Teaching Assistant to join its Junior School team. This role supports Class Teachers in creating a stimulating and safe learning environment for pupils aged 6-11. The ideal candidate will be passionate about education and committed to the academic and personal development of young learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Class Teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons
  • Assist with classroom management and the smooth running of daily school activities
  • Work with individual pupils or small groups to enhance learning outcomes
  • Create a secure, happy, and stimulating classroom environment
  • Collaborate closely with teachers and other staff to ensure a consistent approach to student support
  • Contribute to the planning and organisation of school-wide events and activities
  • Maintain accurate records and support administrative tasks as required
  • Ensure the implementation of safeguarding and confidentiality policies

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant work experience in a teaching or child-focused role
  • University degree or teaching qualification in Primary School or Early Childhood Education
  • Excellent verbal and written English language skills
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Good humour and a positive, approachable attitude

Preferred

  • Experience in an international school setting
  • Familiarity with the British curriculum
  • Experience working with children aged 3-11 in an educational environment
  • Knowledge of the British educational system
