Summary:
Primary SENCO and Inclusion Lead sought at a school committed to special educational needs and disability (SEND).

The Opportunity:
As the Primary SENCO and Inclusion Lead, you will provide strategic leadership of SEND and inclusion across the primary phase (ages 4–11), ensuring every pupil receives high-quality, equitable provision that enables them to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic development of inclusion and SEND in line with whole-school priorities and the SEND Code of Practice.
- Contribute to school self-evaluation, improvement planning, and inspection readiness.
- Use data, evidence, and research to drive decision-making, target provision, and evaluate impact.
- Ensure SEND provision is financially sustainable and compliant with statutory expectations.
- Build strong partnerships with families, external agencies, specialist services, and the Local Authority.
- Strengthen transition processes into, across, and beyond the primary phase.
- Lead on referrals to a range of external agencies including EP services, Outreach and Speech and Language.
- Respond to consultations for entry into Reception and Years 1 - 6.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in working with SEND pupils.
- A skilled classroom practitioner with first-quality provision at the forefront of expectations for all pupils.
- Willingness to undertake SENCO qualification training if not already held.
- Willingness to undertake DSL training and take a lead on this role within the primary school.
Preferred
- Experience as a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
- Experience with Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) processes.
- Experience in leading on inclusive classroom practice and access arrangements.
