Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, implement, and evaluate engaging learning opportunities aligned with the Canadian (Ontario) Curriculum.
  • Create a dynamic and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student success and well-being.
  • Maintain strong communication with students, parents, and colleagues to support student progress and development.
  • Collaborate with Learning Support, Safeguarding, and Well-being Leads to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in co-curricular activities, school events, and outdoor learning experiences.
  • Stay up to date with teaching strategies and curriculum developments to enhance instruction and student outcomes.
  • Support the school’s mission by promoting global citizenship and fostering a culture of respect and collaboration.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor of Education degree (Ontario or equivalent).
  • Ontario Teachers’ Certificate or international teaching qualification in good standing.
  • Qualified to teach Primary/Junior children.
  • Native English speaker.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience teaching in Primary or Junior grades.

Preferred

  • Experience with innovative teaching and learning methods.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in an international or independent school setting.
  • Coaching or extracurricular activity experience.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and confidentiality.
