Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement, and evaluate engaging learning opportunities aligned with the Canadian (Ontario) Curriculum.
- Create a dynamic and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student success and well-being.
- Maintain strong communication with students, parents, and colleagues to support student progress and development.
- Collaborate with Learning Support, Safeguarding, and Well-being Leads to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Participate in co-curricular activities, school events, and outdoor learning experiences.
- Stay up to date with teaching strategies and curriculum developments to enhance instruction and student outcomes.
- Support the school’s mission by promoting global citizenship and fostering a culture of respect and collaboration.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Bachelor of Education degree (Ontario or equivalent).
- Ontario Teachers’ Certificate or international teaching qualification in good standing.
- Qualified to teach Primary/Junior children.
- Native English speaker.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience teaching in Primary or Junior grades.
Preferred
- Experience with innovative teaching and learning methods.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in an international or independent school setting.
- Coaching or extracurricular activity experience.
- Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and confidentiality.
