Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons tailored to the needs of primary-aged children with ASD and SEMH needs
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including psychologists and therapy professionals, to support student progress
  • Foster positive relationships with students, building confidence and encouraging personal development
  • Implement individualized learning plans and track student progress effectively
  • Participate in staff development and training to enhance teaching practices
  • Contribute to a collaborative school culture that values the whole child
  • Support the school’s ethos of high expectations and aspirations for every child
  • Engage in pastoral care and emotional support for students

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Previous teaching experience with primary-aged children
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to working with children with special educational needs
  • Ability to manage a classroom effectively and adapt teaching methods to meet diverse needs

Preferred

  • Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder or Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs
  • Experience in special education or SEND settings
  • Familiarity with inclusive teaching strategies and differentiated instruction
  • Experience with behaviour management in a special needs environment
  • Passion for education and a genuine interest in making a positive impact on young people’s lives
