As a Primary Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping the educational experiences of students with autism, contributing to a supportive, inclusive and innovative learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, individualised teaching and learning tailored to the needs of students with autism and communication difficulties.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to support the holistic development of students.
- Develop and implement short, medium, and long-term curriculum plans aligned with student needs.
- Set and monitor personalised learning targets to ensure optimal progress and outcomes.
- Assess and report on student progress to parents, colleagues, and external bodies in line with school policies.
- Reflect on lesson outcomes and continuously improve teaching strategies.
- Contribute to the review of Statements and EHC Plans, PEP and LAC reviews.
- Maintain a structured, engaging and motivating classroom environment that promotes learning and well-being.
- Stay informed on current developments in autism education to enhance teaching practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching across a range of subjects
- Relevant knowledge and experience working with students with autism, SEMH and PDA profiles
- Understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures
- Experience managing challenging behaviours and implementing effective behaviour management strategies
Preferred
- Experience working in specialist educational settings
- Experience with curriculum development and delivery for students with special educational needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to student and staff well-being
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary range of £34,398 - £48,913 per year
