A school dedicated to providing specialist primary education in a calm, nurturing environment for children aged 6-11 with communication difficulties typically associated with Autism spectrum conditions.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Primary Teacher to join our team and make a meaningful impact on the lives of students with speech and communication needs. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning tailored to the needs of students with speech and communication needs.
  • Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to support student progress and well-being.
  • Develop and implement short, medium, and long-term curriculum plans aligned with individual student needs.
  • Set, monitor, and review personalised learning targets to optimise outcomes for each student.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, and report to parents, staff, and external bodies as required.
  • Contribute to the review of Statements and EHC Plans, and other student support reviews.
  • Create structured, engaging, and challenging lessons that promote motivation and learning.
  • Stay informed about current developments in autism education and incorporate best practices into teaching.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Previous experience working with students with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Ability to teach across a range of subjects
  • Experience with students on the autism spectrum, SEMH, and PDA profiles
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and implementing individualised learning plans
  • Background in special educational needs and disability (SEND) support
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary team collaboration
  • Commitment to student and staff well-being
