The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Primary Teacher to join our Key Stage 2 team on a one-year maternity cover. This is an excellent opportunity for an Early Career Teacher (ECT) to gain valuable experience in a high-performing school. The role offers the chance to make a real impact on student achievement and contribute to a dynamic, supportive teaching community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons that align with the school’s curriculum and promote student progress.
  • Manage a classroom effectively, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and motivating learning environment.
  • Implement agreed whole school procedures, including safeguarding, behaviour management, and equal opportunities.
  • Support students with special educational needs through targeted planning and collaboration with the SENCO.
  • Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners, ensuring high expectations and engagement.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through form tutoring, enrichment activities, and pastoral care.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and self-evaluation to improve teaching practice.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with QTS or equivalent.
  • Experience or willingness to work with students across Key Stage 2.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and supporting students with special educational needs.
  • Ability to plan and deliver lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
  • Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience working with Early Career Teachers.
  • Familiarity with the Code of Practice on Special Educational Needs.
  • Experience in school-wide initiatives or enrichment programs.
  • Demonstrable track record in student progress and achievement.
