Principal Examiner - iAL Spanish. Lead assessment and quality assurance for iAL Spanish qualifications.

The Opportunity:

As a Principal Examiner for iAL Spanish, you will play a key role in maintaining the quality and consistency of assessments. This position offers the opportunity to shape the standards of international qualifications and contribute to the ongoing success of learners worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the standardisation of Examiners and ensure consistency with unit specifications and assessment criteria.
  • Lead pre-standardisation and standardisation meetings and participate in appeals against results and post-series reviews.
  • Update mark schemes and guidance based on candidate responses and feedback from supervisors and Examiners.
  • Select and mark items for validity as agreed during pre-standardisation meetings.
  • Quality assure live candidate responses as part of a supervisory role.
  • Prepare and collate materials for standardisation and support supervisors and Examiners.
  • Monitor the progress of supervisors and Examiners and provide feedback as required.
  • Act as a senior point of escalation across the quality assurance process and support awarding activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience and knowledge of quality assurance and assessment practice.
  • History of moderation and/or marking a regulated qualification.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proven ability to provide and coordinate training such as standardisation and other standards-related activities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the specification for your specialist sector, including internal and external requirements.
  • Experience leading or supporting essential quality assurance activities.

Preferred

  • High level of IT proficiency.
  • Leadership experience in delivering qualifications.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance and requirements.
  • Report writing within a regulated industry.
