Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire a highly skilled senior leadership team and committed staff.
- Foster a culture of inclusion, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance educational outcomes for all students.
- Strengthen partnerships with external stakeholders, including parents, local authorities, and specialist agencies.
- Ensure the school maintains its high standards of education and support for students with complex learning needs.
- Promote the school’s vision and ethos both internally and externally.
- Support the development and research centre in driving system leadership and collaboration.
- Ensure the school remains responsive to the evolving needs of students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience as a senior leader in a specialist education setting, preferably in a school for students with complex learning needs.
- Strong leadership and strategic planning skills.
- Deep understanding of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and inclusive education practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in managing large teams and fostering a positive school culture.
- Commitment to inclusion, equity, and high-quality education for all students.
Preferred
- Experience in school improvement and transformation projects.
- Knowledge of mentoring-coaching approaches to learning.
- Experience in working with students with Autism Spectrum Condition or Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities.
- Experience in leading a school through periods of change and development.
