The Opportunity:
As a Production Arts Teacher (Costume), you will play a vital role in delivering industry-led education in costume construction, wardrobe management, and theatrical dressing. This role is ideal for someone passionate about inspiring the next generation of creative talent in the performing arts and screen industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality teaching and learning in costume construction, wardrobe management, and theatrical dressing.
- Support students in developing practical skills in design interpretation, fittings, alterations, and costume maintenance for performance.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the school and BOA Group on major productions and cross-pathway projects.
- Work closely with teachers, technicians, designers, and industry practitioners to enhance student learning experiences.
- Foster a supportive and professional environment that encourages creativity, self-confidence, and high achievement.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of industry-led curriculum and programs of study.
- Maintain strong relationships with senior leaders, department heads, and industry partners.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in costume construction, wardrobe management, and theatrical dressing.
- Experience in design interpretation, fittings, alterations, and maintenance of costumes for performance.
- Strong knowledge of live performance, theatre, or screen contexts.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, technicians, and industry professionals.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Preferred
- Experience working within the education sector, particularly in vocational or technical training.
- Experience with industry partnerships and collaboration with creative organisations.
- Demonstrable ability to inspire and motivate students in a creative environment.
