The Opportunity:

As a Professional Cookery Technician, you will play a key role in supporting high-quality vocational education by creating safe, industry-standard learning environments. Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare kitchens, equipment, and ingredients for practical lessons
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and fully operational working environment
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, food hygiene, and risk assessment standards
  • Manage stock control, ordering, storage, and rotation of ingredients and equipment
  • Support learners during practical sessions where appropriate
  • Maintain equipment and liaise with contractors when required
  • Contribute to department organisation, displays, and enrichment activities
  • Manage orders and ensure timely delivery of supplies

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong understanding of professional kitchen environments
  • Experience of food safety procedures
  • Ability to work in a team and support learners
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety

Preferred

  • Food Safety qualification or willingness to obtain one
  • Experience in hospitality, catering, education, or a similar technical support role
  • Experience with managing stock and inventory systems
