The Opportunity:

As a PSHE Curriculum Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and supporting the delivery of a high-quality PSHE curriculum across a network of schools. This role is central to ensuring that statutory RSHE and Citizenship requirements are met, while promoting inclusion, diversity, and effective teaching practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a high-quality PSHE curriculum informed by evidence and best practice.
  • Undertake curriculum mapping to assess and enhance Citizenship provision across the school network.
  • Provide support to schools in improving PSHE provision, including sensitive and challenging topics.
  • Ensure all schools have access to high-quality resources and guidance for effective PSHE delivery.
  • Develop teacher support materials, including CPD clips and teacher packs, to deliver a knowledge-rich PSHE curriculum.
  • Support school leaders with the effective implementation of PSHE across their institutions.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with statutory requirements for PSHE and Citizenship.
  • Build cross-school collaboration and capacity to deliver high-quality PSHE.
  • Promote inclusion and diversity within the PSHE curriculum and school culture.
  • Coordinate a network of PSHE Leads and maintain partnerships with external organisations.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Extensive experience in leading PSHE provision at primary and/or secondary level.
  • Experience in teaching and supporting others to teach sensitive, challenging, and controversial topics.
  • Experience managing issues arising from the delivery of challenging topics, including public-facing communications.
  • Expertise in using principles of the Great Teaching Toolkit, Rosenshine’s Principles, and/or Teach Like a Champion.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and deliver to agreed timelines and project plans.
  • Commitment to promoting inclusion, diversity, and equal opportunities.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and implementing curriculum resources and guidance.
  • Experience in managing and supporting a network of PSHE Leads.
  • Experience in building and maintaining strategic partnerships with external organisations.
  • Experience in responding to complaints, press enquiries, and FoI requests.
  • Flexibility to travel to schools across the country when required.
