The Opportunity:

As a Regional Finance Assistant, you will provide essential financial administrative support to the management team. This role ensures that all financial procedures are carried out accurately and in compliance with statutory guidelines and Trust policies, making a key contribution to the school’s operational success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide financial administrative support by undertaking transactional accounting and clerical duties.
  • Carry out all financial procedures accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Make accounting entries manually and via financial systems, including monthly balance sheet reconciliation and managing physical cash collection and banking.
  • Coordinate the purchase of goods and supplies to ensure the school obtains best value for money.
  • Deal with queries regarding suppliers and budget account holders.
  • Organise staff business travel and transport for school visits.
  • Support other academies in the community as required, including travel between locations.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • ICT literate with strong skills in using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft applications.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure, managing orders, invoices, and payment reconciliations.
  • Full, clean driving licence.

Preferred

  • An accountancy qualification or currently studying towards one (e.g., AAT, ACCA).
