The Opportunity:

As a Religious Education Subject Leader, you will play a key role in shaping the curriculum and inspiring students to develop a deeper understanding of religious and non-religious worldviews. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Religious Education curriculum to ensure it meets the needs of a diverse student body.
  • Drive the delivery of high-quality lessons that foster spiritual, moral, and social awareness.
  • Support and challenge students to reach their full potential and achieve their life goals.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain and improve standards of teaching and learning.
  • Ensure safeguarding and support systems are in place to maximise student outcomes.
  • Evaluate and enhance the impact of the curriculum on student progress and achievement.
  • Promote a culture of respect, responsibility, and kindness across the school community.
  • Encourage and develop the professional growth of teaching staff within the subject area.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Religious Education.
  • Proven leadership experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum development and delivery.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership and staff teams.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student support.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and implementing a broad and balanced curriculum.
  • Familiarity with the LIFE curriculum framework.
  • Experience in leading and managing a department or team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting.
